Going up and out with bubbles

Saying goodbye to Lav Bay - we had not yet been on the ferris wheel at Luna Park. So Josh smuggled some bubbles and cheese and crackers on board and we had a picnic while riding around.

I tried my luck on the happy clowns and came away with a
little one-horned creature.

More lazy Sundays

Making the most of the watery parks at Lavender Bay before we have to leave. Rusty wrecks and sailboats glinting in the sun.

Pretty ...

Earthdance

World-wide people gathered for Earthdance and to party for peace. In Sydney it was a fun day out in the sun with some great music.

Is the Hillsong church paying for this?

We love Melbourne!

... with its gorgeous old buildings and unique architecture,

pretty blue-pink skies as dusk washes over St Kilda,

and the quaint green trams rattling up and down the wide streets.

We stopped in at a Belgian beer cafe with Tash & Greg. Tash is on the phone to Claire, getting her out of bed and to dinner with us at the Mecca Bar in Docklands.

The well-known Flinders Street Station,

and the lesser-known view of train tracks from the Corner Bar in Richmond.

Enjoying organic Mountain Goat beer at the Great Britain pub in Richmond where the wallpaper could jump out and eat you.

From Richmond we took the scenic route into the city, past the stadiums, art events, sculptures and the Yarra River - right into Federation Square ...

... and into the cute little lanes Melbourne is so famous for. Narrow nooks and hideaway arcades that lead to little gems such as the best Chinese dumpling house in the world!

Picnic at Narrow Neck

Finally the rain has stopped and the sky is all blue once more, a perfect opportunity to get out of Sydney and spent the Queen's birthday Monday on Narrow Neck in the Blue Mountains.

Col and Josh contemplating the fire.

Cooking the sausages and onion to perfection - with a bit of black.

Me with blue sky and trees! Its been a while.

Across the valley to the Three Sisters.

Gentle green-grey hues of the Australian bush mixed with some campfire smoke. Pretty.

Fifi and Fanny's 1st Birthday.

In classic Al style we celebrated the twins special day. They were very excited and by the end of the day had fared well in the present department with a myriad of fluffy things that jingled and jangled.

Here we see them blowing out the candles.

And, with a moment bit of peace in the corner, they enjoy their bubbles in champagne flutes and tuna cupcakes at a petite setting for two.

Green Fishy

Josh putting his creative talents to good use on my sewing machine ...

... resulting in one little green fish as a present for Fifi and Fanny.

The lost photo of Brody's visit

Colin, Brody and Josh having a bevvy on Col's Birthday. So nice of Brody to come all that way for the occasion - that's right wasn't it?

Sorry for the delayed publish, I just don't know where this pic got to.
